SPOTLIGHT: Mobile Clinical Assistant boosts nurse efficiency

Here's an interesting case study that needs to be taken with a grain of salt because it's from a vendor: Panasonic says that a deployment of tablet-like devices in a Spanish hospital has helped nursing staff improve their efficiency by 40 percent. Hospital Comarcal de Inca on the island of Majorca, Spain, reports that the Panasonic Toughbook H1 Health, a portable computer based on Intel's Mobile Clinical Assistant platform and designed for hospital use, has cut in half the time nurses spend on note taking and medication administration. Overall, nurses have needed 40 percent less time to complete their daily work since the hospital implemented the computers last July. Blog post
