SPOTLIGHT: IL encourages HIV testing with text messages

The Illinois Department of Public Health's Center for Minority Health Services is turning to texting as a way of encouraging people to get tested for HIV and AIDS. Residents of the Land of Lincoln can text their ZIP codes to a five-digit short code, then receive a message with the location and phone number of the nearest place to get tested. The department is promoting the program, called Text 2 Survive, with the chance to win gift cards. Press release
