SPOTLIGHT ON: ER waiting times

We're stretching the definition of mobile a tad by including this item: Three HCA hospitals in the Tampa-St. Petersburg, Fla., area are displaying waiting times for their emergency rooms on a billboard, extending an informational program started earlier this year. (The billboard isn't mobile, but the cars that whiz past the sign at a busy intersection in Largo, Fla., sure are.) The electronic display updates waiting times every half hour for the ERs at Largo Medical Center, St. Petersburg General Hospital and Northside Hospital and Tampa Bay Heart Institute, taking an average from the previous four hours.
