SPOTLIGHT: Bilingual mobile EMR software

Given that Research in Motion is one of Canada's most vaunted companies (and will be even more so if founder Jim Balsillie succeeds in moving the Phoenix Coyotes hockey team to Ontario), and given the fact--gasp--that not all healthcare is delivered in English, we were wondering when this would happen: a French version of a mobile EMR for the BlackBerry. MedShare, a Canadian developer of clinical records software for home-health providers, has reached a deal with a company called Qualicode to create a bilingual mobile EMR for the Quebec market. We could see this offering taking off in Europe and Africa, as well. Create a Spanish version and the U.S. and Latin American markets might take notice. Press release
