iSoft, Medic4all team to market remote monitoring systems

Just two weeks after HIMSS10 wrapped up in Atlanta, HIMSS is joining with some European partners for the World of Health IT conference over in Barcelona, Spain. The event opened yesterday, so the news is starting to roll in. Of particular note for FierceMobileHealthcare readers, iSoft Group, the Australian health IT vendor with a large role in England's National Programme for IT, is joining with Swiss disease management firm Medic4all to develop a line of telehealth products to promote prevention and wellness outside of traditional healthcare settings.

Under the partnership, iSoft will market a technology platform for healthcare facilities and for the home to monitor patient conditions and transmit data from wireless devices to a monitoring center. The two companies will offer a wireless monitoring device called WristClinic, a wristwatch-type product called Watch Me for measuring vital signs, a wireless weight scales, a blood-pressure monitor and a glucometer.
